JobProfile committed to protecting the privacy of its users and to make every effort to provide a reliable and secure service. This page aims to inform you about how we use the personal information you provide through this website that do not apply to information collected by other means. This page is aimed equally to job seekers and candidates and employers.
JobProfile complies with data protection legislation. Thus, the processing of your information is regulated and guarantees individual rights to your personal data.
Our sites contain links to other sites over which we have no control. JobProfile is not responsible for the privacy practices or data from other websites you choose to visit from our site. We invite you to read the data protection policies of these other sites to understand how they collect, use and share your data. This page describes how we use the data that you provide on this website and thus does not apply to information collected by other means.
Collection and storage of information
To perform a job search, you are not required to provide us with personal information. In some areas of our website, JobProfile can request personal information such as name, mailing address, email address, phone number or credit card, contact information, billing and other information that may reveal your identity. In other areas, by contrast, JobProfile collects nonspecific demographic data, such as your ZIP code, age and sex, and types of jobs that interest you. It may sometimes happen that we collect a combination of these two types of information, as when opening a MyJobProfile account.
In addition, JobProfile may indirectly collect information about you when you use certain services offered by third parties on our website. This information will therefore be subject to the policies and practices described in this notice and will be processed in accordance with them.
We also collect certain personal information about your usage of our site, like the areas you visit and what services you access. In addition, JobProfile may collect information about your computer hardware and software, including your IP address, browser type, domain name registrations, your access time and the addresses of sites you visit, but this information is not linked in any way to your personal data.
We sometimes offer you the option to provide information describing your culture, your behavior, your preferences and your lifestyle, but you have to decide whether or not you want to give us such information. If you choose to do so, you agree that they are used in accordance with the policies and practices described in this page.
By using our services to write a resume for our database of job seekers, you provide personal information that we will use in accordance with this page.
JobProfile public areas
Please note that if you post personal information in public areas of JobProfile; for example, on forums or online chat, this information may be collected and used by third parties over whom JobProfile has no control. We accept no liability for the use made by any third party information posted by you or made available in any manner whatsoever in the public areas of JobProfile.
Use of your information by JobProfile
We use the information we collect on the website, whether personal, demographic, collective or technical, to manage your listings, answer questions you may have, operate and improve this site, to provide effective delivery to users and deliver the products and services we offer to jobseekers and employers alike.
If you have given your agreement to this effect during or after your registration JobProfile, or if the legislation permits, we may use your contact information to send you emails or other communications regarding JobProfile website updates, such as new opportunities. When you register on MyJobProfile, you can choose whether to receive JobProfile communications; information on topics that may be of particular interest, such as advice on career management. If you have given your consent to do so or if the legislation permits, we may also use the information we gather to inform you of the availability of other products and services offered by JobProfile or its affiliates (such as are defined below), or to contact you about your opinion on current or potential products and services.
You can contact us, and either send us your comments or request additional information, in an area provided for such purposes. It is possible that we may use this feedback (such as success stories) for promotional purposes.
Provision of information to third parties
We do not disclose to third parties your personal data, or your combined personal and demographic information, nor any information about your use of the website (for example, the areas you visit or services you access), except in specified circumstances below.
1. We may disclose such information to third parties if you authorize us to do.
2. We may disclose such information to companies and individuals we employ to provide us with services on our behalf, including sub-contractors companies and individuals located outside the European Economic Area. The functions performed on our behalf include hosting our Web servers, analyzing data, providing marketing assistance, processing credit card payments and customer service. These companies and individuals have access to your personal data to the extent necessary to perform their functions, but they will not share this information with other third parties or use it for other purposes. We will retain control and responsibility for shared data.
3. We may disclose such information if legally required, upon request of a government agency or supervisory authority, or if we believe in good faith that such action is necessary to: (a) conform to legal requirements or legal proceedings, (b) protect the rights or property of JobProfile or its affiliates, (c) prevent a crime or protect national security, (d) protect the personal safety of users or the general public.
4. We can communicate and transmit information to a third party who acquires all or a substantial part of JobProfile activities; where this acquisition is the result of a merger, consolidation or purchase of all or part of our assets. Moreover, in the event of JobProfile being subject to a bankruptcy proceeding, voluntary or otherwise, JobProfile or its liquidator, administrator, receiver or administrative receiver may sell, license or otherwise dispose of any of such information during a transaction approved by the court. You will be notified of the sale of all or a substantial part of our business to a third party by email or through a prominent notice posted on the JobProfile site.
Other uses of information
JobProfile may also collect anonymous information about visitors to its website and share it with customers, partners and other third parties to help them understand the type of visitors accessing the JobProfile and Terms of Use sites.
JobProfile provides other services related companies allowing them to include recruitment areas on their websites. The personal and demographic data supplied by you on a career site hosting are included in the résumé database, but are available without your consent, by yourself, by JobProfile and by the JobProfile company concerned. However, if you join JobProfile after you register on a hosted career site, JobProfile recognizes information regarding your account and you can find the information already provided on your account MyJobProfile hosted career site.
The information collected on top of a hosted career site can be preserved by JobProfile and the other company. In this case, the use of such information by the other company may be subject to the privacy policy of that company and in any event, JobProfile is not responsible for any use made by that company of your personal and demographic data.
If you apply for a job through a hosted career site, you may be asked, if the law permits, to provide information about your age, your sex or your origins. Know that if you provide such information, it cannot be used legally for assessment purposes by employers.
However, JobProfile disclaims any responsibility for the actions of those employers. The information provided will be kept separately by JobProfile from any letter that you send to ask for a particular job. Providing this information is a strictly voluntary act, and you will not suffer any adverse action or treatment from JobProfile if you choose not to divulge it.
Your personal data will be stored and processed on computers located in Switzerland, as described below. The information we collect on one of the JobProfile sites can be shared globally, to provide employers with specific products and services.
In addition, some employers or recruitment agencies interested in your CV may be located in countries outside the European Economic Area. These countries may not have equivalent personal data protection legislation. We will not send your information to employers located in these countries unless you indicated that you want to make your CV available. In making this request, you formally authorize transmitting the data concerned.
CV
Being a career management site, JobProfile offers you the opportunity to place your résumé in our database.
Access to our CV database is limited to employers, recruiters, hiring managers, headhunters and human resource professionals paying our fees, as well as licensed services and other national security agencies, but we cannot guarantee that no other party will have access to this database. We disclaim any responsibility for the use of CVs by third parties who get access by searching our database. You can remove your résumé from our database at any time, (the process is described below). However, employers, recruiters and other parties who have paid to access our database or who have lawfully obtained such access through other channels may have retained a copy of your résumé in their own files or databases. We disclaim any responsibility for the retention, use or privacy of CVs or profiles in possession of these parties.
If you provide information about a person as a reference, it is your responsibility to inform the person that you have sent us this information, and obtain written consent to do so.
Working with beacons
The web pages may contain JobProfile beacons. The beacons are not used to access your personal JobProfile information: they are, for us, a technical tool that we use to gather statistics on the use made of our website.
The beacon is a component of the page content as well as its other elements, you can not oppose or reject them. However, if you do not want such information to be stored, you can disable cookies by changing their configuration in your browser.
Updating or deleting your data
You can review, correct, update or change information on your MyJobProfile account at any time. You just have to login to your MyJobProfile account and navigate to Account Profile or CV, view information about your account or your CV and use the editing options provided if you wish to change anything. You can similarly remove your CV.
If you want to delete the information about your MyJobProfile account, you can contact us at any time at info@jobprofile.ch. An email will be sent confirming the deletion of your data. However, the data will be stored in an archive, which neither you nor any third party can access via the Internet. This copy is retained indefinitely, for auditing and archiving purposes.
Security
JobProfile has installed technically and organizationally appropriate measures designed to protect your personal data against accidental loss or unauthorized access, use, alteration or distribution. Despite these measures, the Internet is an open system and we cannot guarantee that unauthorized parties cannot circumvent these measures or use your personal information for improper purposes.
Children
JobProfile is not intended for children under 16 years and, therefore, we do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 16 years.
Instructions for Use of cookies
JobProfile uses cookies to customize and enhance your online browsing.
Customers, partners, third parties and stakeholders on our website may also use cookies. JobProfile has no control over them and is in no way responsible for practices they employ. We strongly urge you to learn about the policies of these organizations for yourself.
You can accept or decline cookies at any time. Most Web browsers automatically accept cookies, but you can usually modify your browser settings to decline them if you prefer. You can also configure your browser to notify you whenever a cookie is present, so that you can accept or reject them on a case by case basis.
